The RAK-STAR from Rako is required when the keypads of a wired solution are home run or known as star wired. This means a single run of cat5e has been run to each keypad independently and not in series like some lighting control solutions require.
Each cat5e is then punched down inside the RAK-STAR and assigned a designated keypad. Each RAK-STAR can have up to 16 keypads connected, for systems requiring more keypads a series of 3 RAK-STARS can be daisy chained together creating a total of 48 keypads
The RAK-STAR is built in a wall mounted box of the same style as the RAK4 and RAK-LINK devices, so all cat5e cables can be neatly installed in one central location.
The RAK-STAR will allow you to use a combination of home run and loop in and loop out cabling
